About this site and its sources
xfs4iot.com is an independent reference on the XFS standard. It is not affiliated with CEN or with the CEN XFS Workshop, and it is not endorsed by any company named on it.
What it covers
Five short pages, one page per device class and a glossary: what XFS is, the editions of XFS 2.00 to 3.50 and the XFS4IoT releases, the organisations named as Workshop participants, how XFS 3.x and XFS4IoT relate, and the words used around the standard. The site does not host the specifications themselves; it points to where they are published.
How the facts are read
The dates, CWA numbers, device-class counts and participant names come from the published documents. The front page of each part gives the CWA number and the date; the foreword gives the approval date, the publication date and, in 3.40 and 3.50, the list of participants. The class counts are the number of device-class parts in an edition, without part 1, the programming interface. The XFS4IoT release list comes from the release notes in the Workshop's public repository.
The one-line device-class descriptions and the grouping of participants into device makers, software and services, and banks are this site's own. Where this site and a document differ, the document is right.
